Written after the visit
Faults we have had our hands on, described the way they actually turn up. If one of these saves you a call, it has done its job.
- Newton: All the Burners Click at Once on a Viking Range Every electrode clicking when you turn one knob is normal — most professional ranges fire the whole row from one spark module. The fault worth chasing is the burner that will not light: cap seating, blocked ports, electrode position, and delayed lighting above all.
- Viking Dishwasher Not Draining: Work Backwards From the Sump A filmed sump at the end of a cycle is designed behaviour; standing water above the filter is not. Work backwards from the sump — the filter stack first, then the drain hose, the high loop and the disposer knockout plug.
- A Newton Viking Oven That Cleaned Itself and Then Stopped Working A door still locked after self-clean is usually the control waiting for the cavity to fall below its threshold — but a blank display changes the diagnosis to power: a tripped breaker or a one-shot thermal fuse. Separate the two before touching anything, and never force the door.
